The final examination for APM 346 is scheduled for Wednesday, 13 December, 2-5 p.m. Room assignments and other details are avaiable on the U.T. exam time table.
Course material includes the starred sections of Chapters 1--6 in Strauss, especially those emphasized and covered in class. In addition to the material covered in Strauss, we have covered some ideas from integral calculus in higher dimensional euclidean space. The bulk of the material on the exam will stem from the starred (*) sections in Strauss. We also covered Duhamel's forumula which is a topic from Chapter 3. We also covered the Gibbs phenomenon (Section 5.5) in the course.
Students are encouraged to review Midterm 1 and Midterm 2 during the final exam preparation. It would also be useful to study the problems in Strauss that have and have not been assigned on homework.
Students are permitted to bring various paper resources to the exam. In particular, students can bring the Strauss textbook and up to two other books. Notes taken by the student and a reasonable amount of other printed matter can be consulted during the exam. No electronic tools such as computers, calculators, pagers, ipods, etc. will be allowed in the exam.
